37 white neon capital letters, random control DMX programming

The large Futura-light letters face the upper concrete beam of the building housing the art collection. The neon letters are installed without any spaces between individual words and describe the title of the work and the site of the installation. The building itself determined the width of the letters. A random generator illuminates individual letters, while the entire written image is activated every five to ten minutes.

28 white neon capital letters, random control DMX programming

This work stands in a formal and conceptual correspondence to Kuball’s neon installation at the University art collection, which is on the “reverse side” of the same building. The description of the building in backward white neon letters stretches along the upper concrete frieze on the front of the Bochum University library. A random generator illuminates individual letters, while the entire written image is activated every five to ten minutes.
