Mischa Kuball gives lectures as part of his Forum Professorship in the Wallrafjahr 2024
9/11, 9/13. and 2024/10/29 I MAKK und Filmforum NRW im Museum Ludwig, Köln /DE
The collector and philanthropist Ferdinand Franz Wallraf as a figure of thought invites to transdisciplinary formats, such as street art - meets the institution of the museum, urban spaces, city districts, meets the university - the invited actors reflect on this context. They look at current issues and offer us different ways of thinking and methods.
The aim is to negotiate an aesthetic of collecting, an aesthetic of viewing images, an evaluation and indentation of the role of the image in society using, among other things, examples of artistic interventions in public contexts. The great scientific and research achievements of Ferdinand Franz Wallraf will be used as an example to discuss how the concept of science is used in the current debate. Where are the interfaces with the current consideration of socio-political conditions in our society? What role do images play there and what understanding and misunderstanding do they produce?
The program includes three events in 2024, starting this week:
